Outside Sales Representative / Représentant des ventes externes

Location: Quebec city, QC

Salary: $83,500.00-$85,500.00 (Base salary per year)

Our client, a leader in the industrial pipe, valve, and fitting distribution industry, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative for their office and warehouse in Dorval, QC. The successful candidate will maximize sales in Dorval and surrounding areas, generating new and existing accounts. They will be responsible for developing, servicing, and maintaining the customer account base, meeting various sales targets.

Responsibilities:

Develop relationships with key decision makers among existing and new customers through fieldwork and industry events.

  • Resolve customer issues, liaising with inside sales, credit, and warehouse teams.

  • Implement follow-up strategies for specific projects and on an ongoing basis.

  • Focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets while providing accurate sales forecasting.

  • Communicate with customers, providing or coordinating customer service, quotes, and dispute resolution.

  • Develop and service existing and new customers, maintaining long-term relationships.

  • Prepare sales forecasts and review sales results with the Regional Manager.

  • Plan territory, calls, and routes to maximize sales.

  • Identify, target, and acquire new customer accounts.

  • Monitor client creditworthiness, reporting irregularities to the credit department and Regional Manager.

  • Participate in special sales functions and trade shows.

  • Assist on the order desk as required.

  • Stay current on company products.

  • Prepare and generate reports as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in customer service/sales in a related industry.

  • Proven business development skills.

  • College Diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints is an asset.

  • Bilingual in French and English.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications.

  • Self-starter with the ability to multitask and execute a plan of action.

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Willingness to travel daily, some overnight travel required.
